General operation of the practice
General Operation of the Practice
Drs. Gerber and Gontran offer consultations by appointment only. We ask you to make an appointment with your family doctor (except in emergencies).
Dr. Gerber is not in the office on Thursdays and Dr. Gontran is not in the office on Wednesdays. Likewise, they are only present every other Saturday.
In case of an emergency, you can contact the doctor on duty.
There may be occasional changes to the schedule to accommodate training days or vacations.
Our goal is to provide you with quality care by taking the time necessary with each patient to share our medical expertise and review your treatments (effectiveness, side effects, drug interactions, etc.). As such, a consultation is an assessment of your health and does not always result in a prescription.
We are independent of the pharmaceutical industry and work according to scientific data.
New patients
In order to keep office hours reasonable, we only accept new patients in exceptional cases.
If you wish to be treated in our office, you must agree to our way of working.
Following a family member does not entitle you to an appointment.
Mutual respect
Mutual understanding is essential to everyone's well-being.
- No physical or verbal aggression will be tolerated.
- Any outburst will result in denial of further practice.
Making an appointment
- Please make one appointment per person. If the times don't suit your needs, you can leave a message on the website or by phone (press 2) during business hours.
- Please cancel unneeded appointments 24 hours in advance. A canceled appointment is one that has been made available to someone else. You can notify us of a delay via the website or the answering machine. Multiple missed appointments will automatically block your online appointment booking.
Delays
Doctors may be delayed due to emergencies or important medical calls (or patient delays!), your doctor may be delayed. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
Patients: Please respect appointment times and give adequate notice of cancellations or delays so that another patient can take your place.
In the event of a long delay, the doctor may postpone the appointment.
Late patients disrupt the entire office and penalize patients who have appointments after you.
Letters, certificates
We do not send documents by mail (except in exceptional circumstances).
Thank you for helping us to reduce the time we spend working outside of consultations, and for sending us all your requests during consultations.
All requests for medical documents (prescriptions, records, etc.) must be accompanied by an examination and cannot be issued to a third party. The date of issue on the document must be the date of the examination.
Medical certificates cannot be issued by e-mail and must be obtained in person.
We remind you that the provision of medical certificates is regulated by law:
- It's up to you to justify your child's absence from school,
- Medical certificates will no longer be required for children from 2021 and only every 3 years for adults.
- We are not allowed to complete certificates directly for insurance purposes.
- More information about certificates: solidarites-sante.gouv.fr/ annexe_certifs_medicaux.pdf
Organization of consultations
- The first appointment must be arranged through the secretary's office. Prepare any medical records you may have in advance (in digital form if possible). This contact may require several consecutive appointments.
- When making a follow-up appointment, please inform the doctor of all the reasons for your visit so that he or she can organize the consultation. Since time for consultation is limited, the doctor may ask you to make a second appointment if he or she deems it necessary.
Good to know If you are taking a daily treatment, the pharmacy can usually help you with a month's supply so that the treatment is not interrupted (one-off).
